The song that is featured this week and will be featured often is our unofficial anthem song of our youth ministry, The Light. DC Talk is a group that got its' beginning in 1987. Back then the Christian music world was very limited, and there really wasn't much in the way of genre. DC Talk (aka dc talk) began a grass roots movement to introduce a more up to date hip hop style and later in the 90's changed to more of a pop rock sound. The band is credited with being partly responsible for the rise in popularity of Contemporary Christian Music. The group had several top hits including Jesus Freak, Jesus is Just Alright, and Supernatural. The Light youth ministry uses DC Talk's popular song, In the Light, as our anthem song.
